Free concert - Chopin recital

Time: 6.30 pm Description: A free, public Chopin recital in Ealing celebrating the close ties between the Polish and English people in Ealing. A bronze bust of Fryderyk Chopin, donated on behalf of Ealing’s Polish community, will also be unveiled. It will mark the 10th anniversary of Ealing’s twinning with Bielany, a district of Warsaw, and the 200th anniversary of the Polish composer’s birth. The concert will take place in Victoria Hall, Ealing Town Hall, at 6.30pm. There is space for 400 people and seats will be allocated on the night on a first-come-first-served basis. Distinguished pianist, Viv McLean, is giving the recital. The Deputy Mayor of Bielany, Councillor Kacper Pietrusinski, and Councillor Ranjit Dheer, cabinet member for Community Services and Safety, will join The Mayor of Ealing, Councillor John Gallagher, Councillor Ranjit Dheer and Deputy Mayor of Bielany, Councillor Kacper Pietrusinski will be at the unveiling ceremony. Councillor Dheer said: "Chopin is one of Poland’s most famous sons and this recital and the placing of this bust is a splendid way to celebrate the special relationship."
